Last week was a whirlwind. Traveling for a triathlon is exhilarating and exhausting. On the one hand you are away from home and all the things that need done around the house... you know... take out the trash, dishes, recycling, water the yard, mow, take care of the kids... you aren't doing. So you have that "free time" while you are away but when you get back, bills don't stop, work didn't stop, life actually went on while you were gone. Meantime you had to hurry like hell to pack a bike and make a plane departure time, get home late and try to recover.
It's a full time job in itself!
TRAINING
Last week's numbers include IM Boulder, so they will be a bit skewed but just subtract 70.3 miles and 6 hours... and you have the actual training.
Biking : 91 miles
Running : 19 miles
Swimming : 3.47 miles
Total time : 10:06:47
Looking back at the time I was able to train and how I did at IM Boulder, it makes you wonder how people cut time out of life to train for a full ironman.
Things that make you go hmmm...

I know you didn't get the results that you wanted but it had to be quite an experience doing Boulder. From the training here in the heat, all the travel and coordination that takes on!
Curious about the post-event timeline. Did you have a chance to get back in your hotel to pack-up and leave? It sounded like your return trip was pretty late. Hope you had Monday off to recoup!
Seeing that I'm only 7 weeks into my HIM training, I can't imagine the time commitment for a full.
I often wonder how I would have time to do a full IM!
Scotty, post event was a GO GO GO style shotgun experience to get packed and back to the airport. I
ll be re-living that in my travel to event post!
