JARED COONES MEMORIAL PUMPKIN 5K RUN/WALK
On October 8, 2011 the 13th Annual Jared Coones Memorial Pumpkin 5k run/walk will take place. From our first run in 1999 with just under 600 entries to our 2010 run with over 3300 participants this race has become an event that celebrates community and family, and is unlike any other run you will be a part of. In our first 12 years we have raised over $350,000.00 to benefit cancer research.

The Olathe Running Club was there at the finish line in 1999 and has been a mainstay every year since. As we are expecting 3500 entries this year we will need everyone’s help. So please make plans to volunteer and be there on race day, and even bring a friend.

Dave Boone will be in charge of the finish line again this year. Please e-mail Dave at davidhboone@aol.com or me at sm26375@sbcglobal.net or call 816 822 2309 as soon as you can to let us know you will be there.

Location: Blackbob School 14701 S. Brougham, Olathe.

Race Time: 8AM

Parking is at a premium so you may want to take advantage of the bus shuttle from Frontier Trail School 15300 W. 143rd.

Jim Burt who sets up the finish line for the Jared Coones Run is having hamstring surgery this week. He will be there race morning but cannot put any weight on the leg. He will need 3-4 guys to help him set up the start/finish banner. Let me know who can help do this. They will need to arrive by 6:30.
