Black Bob Bay Closes as Result of Cryptosporidium Outbreak
Black Bob Bay will close early for the summer due to the recent outbreak of cryptosporidium, a waterborne disease. The closure comes after the Johnson County Environmental Department recommended that all Johnson County pools close to treat and stop the parasite. All other City of Olathe pools had already closed for the summer. Click here for additional information on cryptosporidium.
Also, Too Cool to Drool, co-sponsored by Heartland SPCA, the City of Olathe and Camp Bow Wow, is canceled as a result. The dogging dipping event was scheduled for September 11.
The City of Olathe will super chlorinate all pools prior to opening in the spring of 2012.
Thank you for supporting Olathe Parks & Recreation and we look forward to serving you during the 2012 swim season.
