Rock the Parkway is almost full!

SPRING RUNNING UPDATE

FEATURED MARCH EVENT Mufindi Orphans 5K Run/Walk Saturday, March 3 @ 8:30am Kaw River Levee at Johnny's Tavern  Join us for the third annual 5K Mufindi Orphan's 5K run/walk on the Kaw River levee starting and finishing at Johnny's Tavern.  A portion of the proceeds benefits the Foxes Community and Wildlife Conservation Trust which benefits rural populations affected by AIDS and orphan care in Tanzania. Register online through March 1 for $25 here.

 We are excited to be working with several great organizations in Lawrence and Manhattan on their Spring 2012 running events and want to encourage you to be a part of the fun at these upcoming events:

  

March 10 @ 8:00am - Shamrock Shuffle 5K on the Kaw River Levee at Johnny's Tavern in Lawrence

Wear green and join us for this 23rd annual event, held in conjunction with the Lawrence St. Patrick's Day Parade and benefiting local charities.  Race participants receive a T-shirt and an Irish breakfast compliments of Johnny's, 

the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee and Sponsors.  Sign up for $25, or $20 for registrants under 18 years old, here.  

March 17 @ 10:00am - St. Patrick's Day Two Mile and 10K Road Races in Aggieville in Manhattan

Manhattan's largest running event has drawn record numbers of walkers and runners the past three years, attracting more than 1,200 runners to Aggieville. Come join the grand celebration at the 34th running of the St. Patrick's Day Road Races in Aggieville.  Sign up for the two mile fun run/walk or the 10K Run/Walk today here.  

March 31 @ 9:00am - Rocking Rabbit 5K/10K Run/ Walk at Tuttle Creek State Park in Manhattan

Get a jump on the Easter holiday and join us at Tuttle Creek State Park for the inaugural Rockin' Rabbit 5K/10K Run/Walk on Saturday, March 31 at 9 a.m.  This fun event is a fundraiser for RSVP of the Flint Hills and participants will compete for overall and age group awards.  Get more information or sign up here for $20 for the 5K and $25 for the 10K through 2/29!

April 22 @ 7:30am - Kansas Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk in Lawrence

The HyVee Kansas Half Marathon and 5K is new and improved for 2012 and registration is available for only $45/$25 through the end of February!  The USATF certified course, which starts and finishes in downtown Lawrence, has been modified to improve the accuracy and experience for participants.  The post race food, entertainment, technical shirts, and finisher medals for half marathon finishers will also make this event an annual favorite.  Help support the Health Care Access Clinic and sign up today here.
