Memorial Day marks the 25th anniversary of the Amy Thompson Run for Brain Injury. The scenic run is one of the oldest premier family runs through some of Kansas City's most beautiful neighborhoods. In
addition to the well known 8K event, which takes participants up Ward
Parkway, they are reintroducing the popular 5K as part of the
anniversary celebration! There will also be a 1 mile benefit Walk for
Thought, which will take place beginning in the Loose Park Rose Garden
area. Proceeds from the race benefit the Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City, who provide
vital programs offering resources, support and education for survivors,
loved ones and professionals in our community. Since its inception the
run has raised more than $2 million to help all people with brain injury

The Ozanam Guild Martini Mile course is a 1-mile loop around historic Union Hill and the Martini Corner Entertainment District. Teams
of four will have one runner at a time complete the 1-mile course.
Runners will make their relay-style exchanges at the start/finish
transition area on 31st Street in front of the Velvet Dog.
Once the final runner crosses the finish line, the team's official time
will be recorded. Competitive and recreational runners welcome. Awards
divisions consist of male, female, co-ed, and corporate.
