October 14 @ 12:00pm - Crunchy Chicken Challenge 5K @ KU

This unique event combines a 5K run/walk with a local delicacy - the crunchy chicken wrap and those who are able to quickly enjoy both come home a winner in this fundraiser for the KU Habitat for Humanity chapter. November 11 @ 9:00am - KU Veterans Day 5K/10K and One Mile Walk in Lawrence

Support the KU Memorials Fund and participate in this 5K/10K starting at South Park in Lawrence.  The courses will take you through the KU Campus and the proceeds support scholarships for disabled veterans and their families. December 8 @ 8:00am - Jingle Bell Run 5K Run/Walk in Lawrence

Kade Matthew Meyer lost his life at the precious age of 7½ in September, 2010, when he was killed by a car outside of his Elementary school. His parents have chosen to honor him by creating the Kade Meyer Memorial Fund and award a GEHS senior with a scholarship through his graduating year (2021). After nearly 1,000 participants in our inaugural year, come join us for what is sure to be another great event!

Monies collected will help families that have health insurance but do not qualify for many of the programs designed to aid in the unexpected and substantial financial burden related to pediatric heart conditions. Proceeds raised will benefit MEI's "Ears That Hear" Fund which provides hearing aids to patients who cannot afford them or whose insurance plan does not provide coverage.    Location: Shawnee, KS         Entry Fee: $28

9/22/2012                                                                                            8:00 AM    Joggin for the Noggin is the annual fundraiser to benefit the Mary Lea Johanning Scholarship, an annual, merit-based award for one Atchison High School woman. The proceeds from this race will be used to start an endowment for the fund, with the ultimate goal of raising enough to support this scholarship in perpetuity.       Location: Atchison, KS         Entry Fee: $30 -5K, $20 -2K Walk

9/22/2012                                                                                          10:00 AM   The 3rd annual 5K race, hosted by the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority, will be in honor of Nelson E. Hopkins Junior. All money raised will be donated to the scholarship fund in his name. The scholarship fund was founded after Nelson was a victim of a drive by shooting near Rockhurst University in the fall of 2009.    Location: Rockhurst, Kansas City, MO Entry Fee: $20

Join us for the 9th Annual Smithville 5K/10K Dam Run! Proceeds benefit Rotary's Worldwide Missions, which include the eradication of polio, world hunger, poverty, providing shoes to underprivileged children of the world, and also for local scholarships and community projects. Entry fee includes pancake breakfast and commemorative t-shirt!
