Some October Kansas City Races Coming up

This community event is held in loving memory of Jared and Jayne Coones. Jared was 10 years old when he passed away October 5, 1998, after his courageous battle with leukemia. Jared's mom, Jayne passed away on December 17, 2006, after a difficult fight with breast cancer. The 14th Annual Jared Coones Memorial 5K Pumpkin Run celebrates their lives and raises funds for local organizations that provide support for cancer care and research including The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Children's Mercy Hospital. 
Location: Olathe, KS
Entry Fee: $25 general registration, $15 family registration 
(price increases $5 at midnight)

Come on out to Ottawa for our annual Run For Your Library 5K. This event, which benefits the Ottawa Library, will have prizes for all ages and allows anyone to participate -man, woman, baby, or dog!

Run thru the River is a 5K race for recreational walkers and runners in the greater Kansas City Metropolitan area. Its main purpose is to fund raise for school and student events at MCC-Blue River. Students, employees and community members are all welcome to take part in this fun and healthy event. In addition to the race, there will be a health fair on campus afterwards on the Blue River campus!

Come hit the trails again after a 6 week delay. The Trail Nerds have put together another great trail event with the Fall Fell 7 Mile Trail Run. Enjoy the great trails of Kill Creek Park, Chris Cakes breakfast, and lots of fun! All for just $10!

The inaugural MADD-SAAC 5K for Pregnancy & Infant Loss will be held on Monday, October 15-Pregancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day. The event will include a Tot Trot, balloon release, and "Wave of Light" ceremony.  Vendor booths, raffles, and more start at 5:30 PM!

Looking for a challenge on October 20th? Check out the annual Lake Perry Rocks! Trail Run. This includes a 50K, Half-Marathon, and 5K. All participants receive a tech shirt, custom race logo mug, post-race meal, & beverages!

2nd Annual Heart and Soles 5K is a walk/run that benefits Mercy Ministry. Mercy Ministry helps families in Eastern Jackson County with needs including food, clothes, transitional housing, transportation and employment assistance. All participants will enjoy race shirts, post-race massages, biscuits & gravy breakfast, and opportunities for medals, raffles, prizes!

Buck the Bullies for Brandon is a 5K event created to honor a friend's son who took his own life due to bullying.  The event is intended to support those who have been bullied, celebrate those who have stood up to bullies, and educate others about the effects of bullying. There will be activities for all ages!
