Consolidation, sort of

So with all of my endeavours and just kind of "going with it" on the blog, internet, facebook and twitter thing... I have found it's hard for people to keep track.

Sites I regularly maintain:

I Try Because I Can - personal blog

Me on Twitter - all blog and site posts are sent to twitter

  • Just have to follow me on twitter.
Falkee Triathlon - online tri team blog
Man Vs Triathlon - brand for endurance racing and reporting
Man Vs Triathlon on Facebook - all blog and site posts are sent to the FB page
  • Like it, of course!
Man Vs Triathlon on Twitter - all blog and site posts are sent to twitter
  • Just have to follow me on twitter.
Examiner.com Publishing -you can
EverymanTri.com Publishing.  Not my site but I write content for them.
  • They have a subscription link on their page
That's a lot to keep track of, admittedly.

If you are like me with Facebook... you "like" a lot of stuff and messages can get buried in the news feed.  Twitter is fun but suffers the same issue as Facebook.

I find I get the most from email delivered goodness.  You can read it when you want to and it catches all the content.  You don't miss any posts when you were not looking.  So, if you want to follow what's going on and not miss out on a thing, I would subscribe to the email services.  I believe Feedburner will combine subscriptions and only update you once a day.  I could be wrong...

The big tickets items are:
  • I Tri Because I Can blog posts
  • Man Vs Triathlon site posts
  • Monthly email newsletter
  • Examiner.com subscription
If you hit those, you will be in the know!

So Little Time, So Much to Post About

Training, Product Reviews, Blog Updates and Giveaways.... so much to do and not enough time.  Story of my life but the "day job" and family trump the blogosphere for today!

Did you hear about Alberto Contador getting popped for doping?  Tainted meat was his defense... and that's my defense for bad gas under the covers at night.

Meantime, enjoy this text correction conversation:

Open Letter to the Peanut Gallery

So, in writing and posting about the life and times of me and my family, I encounter what could be called as rude and sometimes asinine comment submissions.

That's why I moderate my comments.

To you that leave good, constructive, positive comments and the like, thank you very much!  I hope you enjoy reading my blog and thank you for interacting!

To those that feel they are compelled to leave derogatory comments, don't waste your time.  Why even bother to read my blog if you don't like what I have to say or don't agree with what I post about.  It's one thing to disagree on points, but what's the point of having a profile on blogger, reading blogs and posting insulting comments?  Get a life.

Thanks.
That's all.

How did I slip by?

So somehow I got myself hooked up with Examiner.com to write about KC area endurance athletics...

I feel pretty confident that I'm qualified in the endurance arena, however, writing isn't always my strongest suit. If I've got some mountain dew or Starbucks on board... I'm Rembrandt with a key board. So, keep the caffeine rolling!

Stay tuned as I get the process moving and hopefully post my first article asap!

Ah what to write about... any ideas out there for the first article?

Perhaps some advice on what equipment to bring on the bike to fix a flat properly?? I know all about that, now.

How to keep your house from being eaten alive by termites? Oh wait, not endurance.

How to keeps ones' sanity working 45+ hours a week with a family and training like I do?? Well, since I'm barely keeping my sanity, maybe not the best option.

Any suggestions?

Big Idea!

Big idea just came to me.

Posted some topics on the Tri forums and got me to thinking about how to contribute to a few things.

Stay tuned for a MIND BLOWING idea.

Random Post to Make Order of the Randomness - huh?

So, I've been getting some feedback on the site through various resources.

One comment was about random time postings. It was suggested posting on a specific day of the week so people know when to check in for anything new. I think that's a grand idea!

I'll probably try to get an update/recommendation/advice every Sunday... and so much may happen during the week... maybe multiple posts on a Sunday! TMI? Overkill? Time will tell.

Thanks to David for the recommendation. http://www.daviddaggett.wordpress.com

Now, that being said... let’s see if life will allow that. =)
